Samples for DNA analysis are usually taken when the animal is marked by ear notching. In such cases the main purpose of the notching is the identification of the animal which does not require the project licence. The resampling as well as a sample of the tail require a valid project licence.
The samples should be taken from pups at the age of 14 days. In connection with the sample, the mice are numbered according to the ear number chart used in KEKS.
After analysing the samples, the researcher marks the results for the pups in Provet. It is advisable to do the euthanasia requests at the same time.
The resampling requests for DNA analysis are made in Provet.
