Oulun yliopisto tarjoaa monenlaisia opiskeluvaihtoehtoja. Perus- ja jatkotutkintoon tähtäävät koulutukset sekä eri maisteriohjelmat tuottavat työelämässä arvostetun yliopistotutkinnon. Lisäksi osaamisen päivittämiseen tarjoutuu lukuisia mahdollisuuksia mm. avoimen yliopiston koulutustarjonnan, täydennyskoulutuksen ja tiedekuntien täydentävien opintokokonaisuuksien kautta.

Kansainväliset maisteriohjelmat

Master's Programme in Health and Wellbeing in the Circumpolar Area

The programme focuses on the specific features, questions and challenges related to the health and wellbeing in the circumpolar area. The core contents are:

  • characteristics of living in the North (environment, economics, social structures, cultural transitions),
  • special characteristics and needs of people living in the circumpolar region in relation to health and wellbeing, illnesses, health promotion and prevention, health care, and rehabilitation,
  • specific features of health care systems and services in the circumpolar region, and
  • a holistic view to the connections between the northern environment and human health and wellbeing.

The curriculum consists of intermediate studies (40 ECTS) and advanced studies (80 ECTS), including a compulsory on-line course package, elective on-line and on-site studies, a potential exchange period and field placement, and a Master´s thesis. The unique curriculum outline enables the students to complete a substantial amount of their studies by distant learning. Elective courses enable students to focus their studies according their personal interests and career plans.

The programme is established and managed by a network of international partner universities (University of Oulu, Finland; Center for Health Education, Greenland; Luleå University of Technology, Sweden; Northern State Medical University, Russia; Northern (Arctic) Federal University, Russia; University of Lapland, Finland; University of Manitoba, Canada; and University of Southern Denmark, Denmark). The programme has been developed under the auspices of University of Arctic’s Thematic Networks and Barents Cross Border University.
