In September 25-26 the LET team has the pleasure to welcome prof. Michael Baker and Francoise Detienne from the University of Telecom-Paristech to Oulu. Prof. Baker is a renowned scholar in the fields of computer-supported collaborative learning, argumentation and dialogic processes in collaborative settings across different contexts. For example, he is the author of the recent book called Dialogue, argumentation and education: https://www.cambridge.org/core/books/dialogue-argumentation-and-education/2B75B91A7FE763D5532430D7378AB786. Francoise Detienne is also a prominent scholar in the learning sciences, focusing especially on collaborative design, computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW), mediated and multimodal collaboration.
The purpose of the visit is to develop current collaborations and work on joint publications. During the visit, prof. Baker will give a talk in the LET seminar titled ”Where is research on collaborative learning going?” on Tuesday 26.9. at 13:30-15:00 in Leaforum. Michael Baker will give his insights about the future of research on collaborative learning. The talk will be followed by an open discussion.
