Kvantum Science Coffee - Mining, climate risks and environment

Kvantum Science Coffee studies mining, environment, climate change risks and water treatment on 8th November at 9:00-10:00 o'clock in the Business Kitchen at Tellus Linnanmaa.

Three experts from the University of Oulu will give introductory talks to the theme:

  • "Climate change risks and mining in the Arctic: a geoscience perspective". Professor Elena Kozlovskaya, Oulu Mining School.

  • "Bioreactors as a solution to lower environmental impacts of mines in cold climatic region: the results from laboratory and pilot scale studies".  University Lecturer Anna-Kaisa Ronkanen, Water, Energy and Environmental Engineering Research Unit.

  • "Removal of arsenic and antimony in constructed wetlands: Risks associated with long-term use". Academy Research Fellow Katharina Kujala, Water, Energy and Environmental Engineering Research Unit.

Breakfast service available. Welcome!

Kvantum Science Coffee is served approximately once a month. The events are open for all interested, no registration is asked and a breakfast service is on a first come, first served basis. Next Science Coffee event is on 13th December, 2019.
