Kvantum Science Coffee

Kvantum Science Coffee studies Space Climate and Solar effects on climate system on September 27th at 9:00-10:00 o'clock in the Tellus Innovation Arena’s Stage.

We will hear two fascinating introductory talks to the theme. Professor Ilya Usoskin will give a talk entitled "Hostile Sun: extreme solar particle storms" and Docent Timo Asikainen will give a talk entitled "Effects of energetic particle precipitation on climate".

Professor Ilya Usoskin is an expert in cosmic-ray and heliospheric physics, solar physics and geophysic. He is the head of Oulu Cosmic Ray station and vice-Director of ReSoLVE Centre of Excellence.

Senior Research Fellow, Docent Timo Asikainen is an expert in the long-term variations of solar activity and its effects in near-Earth space, atmosphere and climate system.

Kvantum Science Coffee is served approximately once a month. The events are open for all interested, no registration is asked and a breakfast service is on a first come, first served basis. Next Science Coffee events are on 8 November and 13 December, 2019.
