Library in brief

Oulu University Library is a scientific library whose task is to provide library and information services for the researchers, teachers and students of the University of Oulu.The Library is open to all public, and in addition to the students and staff of the University of Oulu, it also serves other customers in need of information, particularly in the Northern Finland area.

Through its status as a legal deposit library the library receives free copies of most publications in Finland (since 1961) and also legal deposit copies of EU publications (since 1995). The National Audiovisual Archive (KAVA) is also available for public use in the library.
