Library services during the COVID-19 situation

The exceptional situation caused by the spread of corona virus closes all University of Oulu Library locations until May 31, 2020. This page contains information on the special arrangements in the library as well as on the support the library provides for distant learning and working remotely.

Oulu University Library units open on 1 June with limited opening hours and services. Read more here.

You can reach the library by e-mail at kirjasto@oulu.fi and via the chat in Oula-Finna.

All loans will be renewed automatically and no late fees will accumulate during the library closure.

It is not advisable to return loans during the closure. However, if you are about to move away, for example, items from all University Library units can be returned to the returns box next to the main entrance of the Pegasus Library. You can also use the outside returns box in Medical Library. Please note that books returned in the returns boxes are handled with a delay.

The e-books and other electronic resources are accessible to University of Oulu students and staff  by logging into Oula-Finna with University of Oulu user ID (Haka login).

Library customers can get necessary book loans (maximum of 5 books) from the library on certain conditions during the library closure (until 31.5.).  This must be agreed on by sending an email to kirjasto@oulu.fi
