The limited services in Oulu University Library due to the worsening COVID-19 situation in the region will continue at least until 25 April, 2021. Self-service borrowing and returning of library material is possible in the libraries.
You are not allowed to spend time unnecessarily, do group work, read newspapers or magazines or study in the library. The studying and group work areas and the 24/7 corridor in Pegasus Library will be out of use. Access to reading room loan items, microfilms, e-thesis worksations and the legal deposit workstations in the Pegasus Library is possible by special arrangements. Self-service use outside the library opening hours is not possible in the Health and Social Care Library.
Visit the library only if you are symptomless. Please use hand sanitizer and wear a facial mask in the library, and remember to keep a safe distance to other library users and library staff.
LIBRARY’S ONLINE SERVICES
Please use the library’s online services, if possible, and avoid unnecessary visits to the library.
To enable library users to keep their visits as short as possible, you are advised to pick up your reserved items and other library material from the shelves independently and use the self-service checkout machines to borrow them. Library staff will see to it that the necessary safe distances are kept. Library opening hours and contact information.
You can check the due dates of your loans in Tuudo or in your Oula-Finna account. You can also inquire about your loans and renew them by contacting the library by phone or email at email@example.com.
You can pay late fees online by logging into Oula-Finna.
Pickup of interlibrary loan items is possible by personal arrangement.
Use the self-service return machines in the libraries to return loans. You can also return library items via the bookdrops outside the libraries. These are emptied several times every day.
- The Pegasus Library bookdrop is outside the library’s main entrance (door B).
- The Health and Social Care Library bookdrop is in the Paasi building lobby. It can only be used during campus opening hours.
- The Medical Library bookdrop is to the left of door 7A, next to the unobstructed entrance. There’s a sign on door 7A pointing to the unobstructed entrance.
- The Oulainen Learning Centre bookdrop is in the corridor, next to the Learning Centre entrance. You can use the bookdrop during campus opening hours.
PRINTOUTS, MICROFILMS, E-THESIS WORKSTATIONS AND LEGAL DEPOSIT WORKSTATIONS
Printing out and scanning is possible in the libraries. The number of open workstations will be kept at a minimum.
The microfilm readers, e-thesis workstations and legal deposit workstations in the Pegasus Library are available for use by one person at a time by appointment. To book a time, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
LEGAL DEPOSIT COPIES – READING ROOM/RESEARCHER LOANS
It is possible to order material from the Pegasus Library legal deposit archive for reading room/researcher loan as normal by logging into Oula-Finna.
You can read your reading room loan items in the reading room loan storage room (PK201) in the Pegasus Library. Only three persons are allowed in the room at one time. Please contact email@example.com, if you need more than 15 minutes to read your reading room loan items. Staff of both the University of Oulu and Oulu University of Applied Sciences can borrow legal deposit copies as researcher loans and take them to their offices as usual.
