Application round for studies, which begin in autumn 2019 is Nov 1 2018 - Jan 23 2019 15:00 (3:00 p.m. GMT+2)
During this round the call is open also for international master´s programme
Biomedical Engineering, Master's Programme in Biomedical Engineering, Master of Science (Tehnology) OR Master of Health Sciences (2y),
which is an interdisciplinary programme taught in English. The programme is research oriented to offer a strong basis for a research career. The graduates will obtain a wider-ranging interdisciplinary knowledge in medical and health technologies from theoretical and practical perspective, which profiles their know-how to problem oriented thinking and resolving. It is offered jointly by two faculties at the University of Oulu, the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering.
The programme leads either to the degree of Master of Health Sciences or to the degree of Master of Science (Technology) depending on which of these degrees - and at the same time focus areas - the applicant selects when filling the application.
- Master of Science (Technology) - focus on biomedical signal and image processing, machine learning, and measurement and analysis of biomedical data
- Master of Health Sciences - focus on biomechanics, medical imaging and health technology applications
Graduates work typically in different expert tasks in education, research, industry and health care service. He/she can become for example a designer, product developer, researcher, service producer or entrepreneur. A strong international dimension is often connected to the job description.
