The hypothesis here is that 
            the temperature- which was measured at 2 meters up in the air- 
            has remained at -20 °  for 
            the last few days, and that snow has fallen 
            before the ground has frosted deep. This happens often, especially 
            in the Koillismaa and 
            Kainuu- areas, where there is a thick snow cover.
