Lämpöä nousee pesän syvyyksistä ja heijastuu tummasta pinnasta - lumi sulaa pesän päältä. Huomaa, että muurahaiset
ovat täällä tunturissa käyttäneet pesänrakennukseen tunturikoivujen oksanpätkiä (lyhytversoja), eikä männy neulasia,
kuten etelämpänä havumetsävyöhykkeessä.

Rather warm air is resurfacing from inside of nest, as well the warm is reflecting from the dark surface of nest - snow is
melting around the nest. NB, that nests here in northern mountains are built by ants from the sprout (short shoots)
of mountain birches (Betula pubescens ssp. verrucosa) - neither from the needles of pine (like in the southern areas,
in the boreal coniferous forests.
