Positive social change in organizations
PSC (positive social change in organiations) is a research project about the impact of companies' internal and external social capital on developing genuine engagement of employees in sustainable development projects.
The project aims at:
- identifying the relationship between companyies' inter-organizational relationships that build their external social capital and the undertaking of sustainable development projects by companies,
- defining the impact mechanism of collective sustainable development on shaping the motivation and capabilities of employees in order to achieve sustainable development,
- identifying the impact of internal social capital on the effectiveness of undertaken projects and on the genuine commitment of employees to sustainable development and
- defining a reference model for shaping employee engagement in sustainable development.
The collaboration between selected companies and NGOs both in Poland and Finland will be analyzed for this project.
PSC is led by the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland. At Oulu Business School, the research units on Marketing, Management and International Business as well as Martti Ahtisaari Institute are partners in PSC.
On the side of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, PSC is funded by the National Science Center of Poland, decision number DEC-2017/25/B/HS4/01113. At Oulu Business School, the Finnish Foundation for Economic Education indirectly supports the project through a working stipend for a doctoral student.
Studies on employees in corporate volunteering, value creation through corporate volunteering, leadership in corporate volunteering and post-modern ethics in corporate volunteering are currently being carried out.
