EMCOLD - Removal of emerging micropollutants in cold climate – comparison of removal in large scale between conventional activated sludge process and aeration-membrane bioreactor process (2019-2020)

The main objective of this study is to compare the performance of conventional activated sludge process and the aeration membrane bioreactor (MBR) process in removing pharmaceuticals and hormones from wastewater. The study is performed at Oulu wastewater treatment plant. The project is funded by Maa- ja vesitekniikan tuki ry. and Finnish Water Utilities Association.
