Geomagnetic pulsations

SGO operates Finnish pulsation magnetometer network, which roots are at the Department of Physics of University of Oulu.

Today the network covers stations from the Southern Finland (NUR) to Northern Finland (KIL and KEV). The instrumentation used are built at the University of Oulu (Dept of Physics and SGO). More details and the data are available from the SGO www-server .

The present 250Hz instrumentation is capable to detect Alven resonators, three first Schumann resonances as well lightning discharges about 300km from the station. The unique signal in Finland is the 16.67Hz signal generated by the Swedish railway network.
