5-6 Year Degree Programmes

Degree Programme in Creative Arts Oriented Primary Teacher Education

The Creative Arts Oriented Primary Teacher Education Programme sees arts and crafts as a meaningful area of human growth, thinking and experience. The focus is on the practice, theory and research of art education in general and especially at the level of basic education.

Students are selected to this programme based on their interest in arts and crafts. The education supports the construction of a pedagogical view that is built on the student’s personal relationship to art and his or her own artistic and practical skills. The projects in art pedagogy, in which philosophical theoretical discussion and the student’s own expressive experiences are linked together, add to an understanding of how the human being learns to perceive the world. The students and teachers of this programme constitute a learning community in which the various areas of arts and crafts interact with each other. In this context, learning is approached from the aesthetic, emotional, social and ethical points of view. The implementation of practice periods and various projects takes place in interaction with the different sectors of education, arts and culture.
