Logopedics, i.e. speech and language therapy (SLT), is a multidisciplinary science in the humanities with strong links to behavioural sciences. Logopedics deals with speech and language development and manifestations (and other aspects) of communication disorders and their causes as well as with the prevention and rehabilitation of these disorders.

Almost all of the research projects in Logopedics are multidisciplinary. Most of them are done in co-operation with other disciplines or faculties in the University of Oulu. Some of them are also done in co-operation with other universities.
