Studies at University of Oulu 2012-2013

The University of Oulu offers study opportunities with a solid academic foundation ranging from 5-6 year degree programmes and master’s programmes to doctoral training. There are also several possibilities such as open university studies, executive training and continuing education for developing and maintaining skills and competencies.

In addition to a variety of student exchange programmes, international master’s degree programmes in English are offered in six fields of study, making the university an international study environment.

Master's Programme in Finance

The programme offers you a full two years of intensive studies that provide you with wide knowledge on asset pricing, portfolio management and portfolio performance evaluation, corporate finance and financial econometrics. The courses are specially designed to provide students with deeper knowledge of all the most important fields of finance. In addition, the courses familiarise you with a number of different research methodologies used in financial analysis.

The programme provides a Master's degree of high international standards. The programme is designed for students with different university level backgrounds. As a minimum precondition, an applicant needs to have an appropriate Bachelor´s (or similar) degree. The quantitative nature of the programme ideally suits those who have studied business, economics, natural sciences or engineering. This programme is specially designed to provide students with a strong background for scientific research.
