Degree Programme in Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical engineering is involved in almost all technology. It is technical computing and design of equipment, control automation, materials engineering and production technology. Mechanical engineering is utilized in the process machines and environmental technology, the mechanics and production of electronics, and in the products and production technology of the construction industry. The structures of large ships and paper machines, the parts of space satellites, and the smallest products of nanotechnology are all part of this technology.

In their solutions mechanical engineers combine different areas of knowledge into desired products and can utilize their skills in all areas of technology. Due to the extensive nature of the discipline, no one can master it all. That is why students in this degree programme will be able to specialize in one of the following branches of study: automotive engineering, machine design, materials engineering, mechatronics and machine diagnostics, structural engineering and construction technology, engineering mechanics, industrial engineering or production technology. To ensure adequate scope of knowledge the students choose complementary courses in one of the other branches of study. Graduates of this programme are employed in such areas of industry, which play central role in creating us jobs and increasing our export.
