The University of Oulu offers study opportunities with a solid academic foundation ranging from 5-6 year degree programmes and master’s programmes to doctoral training. There are also several possibilities such as open university studies, executive training and continuing education for developing and maintaining skills and competencies.
In addition to a variety of student exchange programmes, international master’s degree programmes in English are offered in six fields of study, making the university an international study environment.
The environmental engineering degree programme produces knowledge and skills in process and environmental engineering, industrial engineering and in aspects of ergonomics and safety. The programme focuses on environmental and legislative issues and economic aspects. As the same processes apply in both industry and nature, biological, physical and chemical processes and their effects on water and the material cycles in the soil are covered in the educational programme. The programme focuses on process design, control and development in various industrial and environmental applications. The degree programme is multidisciplinary, focusing on the use of biomaterials in industrial processes, environmental protection and restoration, as well as industrial and urban environmental planning.
The degree programme consists of process and environmental engineering studies and mathematical and scientific studies. Furthermore, personal skills are developed during the education program. The programme provides all the necessary skills and knowledge for design, research and development tasks in environmental engineering.
