The Oulu university’s Tellus will be filled with 40 branding enthusiasts, when Mini-Brandathon, a "brand hackathon", will be organized in Oulu on 15. February 2019. Two times earlier arranged Brandathon has been re-created as Mini-Brandathon and will be part of the Oulu Business School’s Brand Management course instructed by branding researcher, Dr. Saila Saraniemi.
Mini-Brandathon challenges students, businesses, business developers and researchers to co-create brands together. It is a one-day event where student teams ideate creative solutions for the case companies’ branding related challenges.
The event involves three interesting case companies: a fast-growing health technology company 9Solutions, disruptive solutions for real estate business providing CubiCasa and an innovative car sharing company Omago. Each company has a branding related challenge to which they seek solutions and new perspectives.
In Mini-Brandathon, business students discover innovate solutions to these challenges. In the end of the day, teams will present their solutions to companies. The companies and the jury of experts will reward the best ideas.
Mini-Brandathon is based on Brandathon concept originally developed by Minna Törmälä, graduated as a Ph.D. at Oulu Business School to increase branding knowledge and skills among students, businesses and professionals. Brandathon is a way to learn brand building in a fun and communal way. For companies it offers fresh new perspectives to boost success and also a window to future professionals’ skills.
The event is organized in co-operation with the Oulu Universities’ Entrepreneurship Hub, Business Kitchen,Oulu Business School and BusinessOulu.
