Kickstart is a business idea competition organized by Oulu University of Applied Sciences, Oulu Vocational College and University of Oulu. In the first phase, ideas will compete within their own organizations, and the competition will culminate in the grand final where business ideas from all the organizations compete against each other. Apply now, the application period ends on 3.11.2019!
All the applications are evaluated, and 10 best ideas from within the university make it to the university semi-final. There the competitors will present their ideas, and the best one will win 1500 euros, second 500 euros and third 300 euros. Three best business ideas of the university make it to The Grand Final which is held on the 3rd of December. In The Grand Final, the best ideas from all the organizations compete against each other, and three best ideas win great prizes!
Kickstart aims to inspire young entrepreneurs and enthusiastic students to take a step towards an entrepreneurial mindset. The competition is not bound to any particular field of education and it is organized both in Finnish and in English. You gain experience in developing business ideas and learning how to pitch them. You can participate alone or as a team as long as all team members are from your own organization.

This is how you do it:
- Step 1: Fill in the application form carefully no later than 3.11.2019 at https://www.kickstartoulu.fi
- Step 2: At the end of the application period the coaches go through the applications and choose top 10 ideas from each organization based on written output.
- Step 3: The chosen ideas make it to the university semi-final. Jury selects the top 3 ideas based on the ideas and pitching.
- Step 4: The top 3 will go to The Grand Final between three organizations and pitch the business idea in front of the audience.
