The Third Nordic PhD Summit 2019

“From PhD programme to job market: Identify your real world skills””

Aarhus University, Denmark, 29 -30 August 2019!

 

This is an invitation targeted to all Health and Biosciences Doctoral Programme (HBS-DP) doctoral students at the University of Oulu!

Travel support will be available up to five doctoral students to participate in this annual networking conference or in the courses before the summit (26-29 August 2019).

Nordic PhD Summit 2019 in Aarhus, Denmark, August 29-30, 2019

The 2019 Organizing Committee looks forward to bringing together PhD students from the Nordics for two days of interaction, networking and scientific discussions. This year's focus will be on the PhDs societal contributions and your career after obtaining the PhD degree. The theme will be “From PhD programme to job market: Identify your real world skills”. The summit will be a mixture of plenum sessions and feedback on the participants’ own skills from a career point-of-view.

Courses for all PhD students: In the days before the summit (26 - 28 August 2019), there will be hosted a number of scientific three-day PhD courses, one-day workshops on generic topics (grant applications, publishing, etc.) and a 24 hour hackathon focusing on medical devices. All the PhD students from all the Nordic countries are welcomed to join the courses. More info>>

Target group: Doctoral students in HBS-DP

Costs covered by HBS-DP: Registration fee (EUR 100/DKK 750), travel costs Oulu-Aarhus-Oulu (economy), accommodation, local transportation.

Application review and selection criteria: All applications will be reviewed after the call deadline, and the awarded doctoral students will receive further instructions about registration and travel arrangements by email before 15th of May. If there are more eligible applicants than can be supported, a fair distribution across different HBS disciplines will be considered as selection criterion.

Health and Biosciences Doctoral Programme of the University of Oulu (HBS-DP) is a partner in NorDoc, which is a doctoral training network of Nordic universities in Health Sciences from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. In Oulu, the network includes doctoral students from all HBS-DP doctoral degree programmes: Medicine, Dentistry, Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine, Health Sciences, and Biology.
