Information technology and electrical engineering doctoral programme invites applications for the following full-time doctoral student positions: Short-term Doctoral Student Positions (1-2 month each) to be filled during 2019.
Important: This call is targeted only for the doctoral students, who have active study rights in UniOGS, and who are in the final stage with their doctoral thesis project.
The positions will be filled as soon as possible to enable the graduation on time.
Requirements are that the applicant needs funding to be able to finish their doctoral degree, are able to take a research leave and have a good possibility to defend their thesis within the year 2019 or latest on spring 2020.
The major subject of the doctoral student must be in the Doctoral Degree Programme of Information Processing Science, Computer Science and Engineering, Communications Engineering or Electrical Engineering. To successfully occupy the short-term position, the candidate’s last (3rd) follow-up group (FuG3) meeting must have been successfully held.
The salary of selected doctoral students will be set according to national salary scale for the teaching and research staff of Finnish universities (salary level 4 and a supplementary remuneration). The research unit must cover the cost difference between this strategic funding and the salary. One to two months full time employment is required for this funding.

Application and evaluation process
The applications will be evaluated by panelists from the Doctoral Training Committee of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering. Finally, University of Oulu Graduate School deans will consolidate the evaluation results and make the final decision for the positions. All applicants will be informed of the selection by e-mail.
