Oulun yliopiston pop-up-tila Oulun keskustassa osoitteessa Kauppurienkatu 12

University of Oulu brings science to the centre of Oulu

The University of Oulu will open a pop-up space in Oulu city centre at Kauppurienkatu 12 for the spring. Virtual broadcasts and programme will be organised in the space for three months in February–April 2021. The space can also be visited during the opening hours.

Interesting talk shows will be broadcasted from the space weekdays from Tuesday to Thursday at 5pm. Discussions relate to science, education and Oulu as a university city. In the first weeks, topics such as snow, carbon-neutral industry and the deepest essence of Oulu are discussed. Most of the programme is in Finnish.

Student and school student groups can allocate time from the space for group-specific science workshops. The cubic vitrins of the pop-up space showcase solutions to build a more sustainable, intelligent and humane world. Every two weeks on Mondays, a programme recording related to sustainable development is published. Educational institutions can use them in their teaching.

At the time of the joint application period for universities in March, live streams related to the degree programmes of the University of Oulu will be sent from the pop-up space.

Current limits related to the corona pandemia are taken into account.
