Funding from EU and Academy of Finland for NMR research in physics

The Academy of Finland and the European Commission have awarded ca. 1.34 M€ new funding for NMR Research Group in the Faculty of Science of University of Oulu.

Docent Perttu Lantto received a 4-year (1.9.2015- 31.8.2019) Academy Project from the Research Council for Natural Sciences and Engineering of the Academy of Finland. The theoretical and computational NMR project concerns Magneto-Optic and Magnetic Resonance Modeling in Extended Systems (MOMRMES).

Additionally, the Research Council for Natural Sciences and Engineering appointed docent Ville-Veikko Telkki for a 5-year Academy Researcher post started on September 1st, 2015. The experimental research project focuses on developing Ultrafast Multidimensional Laplace NMR methods that will enable new applications e.g. real-time investigations of structures and fast processes in materials.

Furthermore, the EU Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA) action funds the development of novel Experimental Nuclear Magneto-Optic Spectroscopy, NMOSPEC led by Dr. Anu Kantola. A 2-year post-doctoral scientist (Dr. Petr Štěpánek) has been employed from October 1st, 2015.
