Radiation dose determination using MOSFET and RPL dosimeters in x-ray imaging

In this thesis, the properties and applicability of two different dosimeters were evaluated in medical x-ray imaging. The investigated radiation dose reduction methods were observed to be useful in everyday work. X-ray imaging utilizes ionizing radiation and therefore its use must always be justified and optimized due to possible adverse effects. There are multiple sources of uncertainties in x-ray radiation measurements which set limitations on the suitability of different dosimeters. Here, two different dose reduction methods were investigated in computed tomography and dental panoramic tomography. These methods were found useful as long as their limitations and proper use are considered.
