Eija Ferreira is a postdoctoral researcher in the Data Analysis and Inference research group (DataAI) at the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, University of Oulu, Finland. Her research lies in the fields of machine learning, data mining, ubiquitous computing, and artificial intelligence for wellbeing, health technology, and industrial applications, especially focusing on model selection and data quality assessment for sensor data. During her research career, she has studied physical activity and exercise energy expenditure modeling, cognitive load assessment, understanding the causes of Type 1 Diabetes, medical data pre-processing, and data anonymization. She has also worked on various topics in the areas of industrial data analysis, IoT, digitalization and mobile computing.
