Biography

Eija Ferreira is a postdoctoral researcher in the Data Analysis and Inference research group (DataAI) at the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, University of Oulu, Finland. Her research lies in the fields of machine learning, data mining,  human-computer interaction, and ubiquitous computing, especially focusing on model selection and data quality assessment for sensor data. During her research career, she has studied sensing and modeling of human behavior in the forms of physical activity, activity recognition, cognitive load, and mobile device usage. In the area of industrial data mining, she has worked on online monitoring, quality control and process improvement for spot welding and steel manufacturing industries.
