Elina Niemitalo-Haapola

I work as a university lecturer at the field of Logopedics and teach themes addressing language acquisition and evaluation and rehabilititation. I am also supervising therapeutic studies as well as candidate and master thesises. In addition I am "oma ope". My research interests are on auditory processing and on goal setting and effectiveness in rehabilitation. 



Currently I am working on a project "Implementation of Goal Attainment Scaling in Intensive therapy" (IGASI) funded by Kela (Social insurance institution in Finland). The aim of the project is improve the implementation of Goal Attainment Scaling in speech and language therapy. In addition I am praticipating projects addressing auditory processing (AudiPro) and effectiveness of speech and language therapy (Kiekuva). 


I teach on basic, intermediate and advanced courses as well as supervise bachelor and master thesis. In addition I am "Oma ope".

Societal participation

I am a board member in Finnish Association of Speech and Language Therapy. I am also one of the editors of text book "Lapsenkielen kehitys - Vuorovaikutuksen, leikin ja luovuuden merkitys" (https://www.ps-kustannus.fi/Elina-Niemitalo-Haapola/Lapsen-kielenkehitys.html).
