The aim of my population-based birth cohort study is to investigate the association between chronotype, physical activity and cardiometabolic health in middle age. The study population consists of the Northern Finland Birth Cohort (NFBC1966), and activity is accelerometry-based (n = 5600).
Deeper understanding on the chronotypes and their associations with PA, SED and health is needed in order to develop practical applications and recommendations at population level and for subpopulations at risk. The results of this study can be utilized to support evidence-based decision-making and help to develop future services, education of professionals and support individualized health and wellbeing .
