Biography

Dr. Nevalainen currently acts as part-time Clinical Teacher at Department of Radiology, Oulu University and Oulu University Hospital, Oulu Finland. He is also board-certified radiologist and fellow-in-training for musculoskeletal radiology subspecialty. Dr. Nevalainen received his Ph.D. at University of Oulu in the year 2013, and spent a post-doctoral year at the Department of Musculoskeletal Imaging and Intervention, Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, USA during years 2014-2015. Board certification in radiology and the title of Docent (Adjunct Professor) he obtained in the year 2019. Dr. Nevalainen has 24 peer-reviewed publications in international journals, and actively conducts clinical research on musculoskeletal radiology. His main research interest is currently the development of novel imaging techniques for daily clinical use in musculoskeletal practice. Other research focuses include imaging of the osteoarthritis, clinical applicability of artificial intelligence and various orthopedic / musculoskeletal projects.
