Antti Moilanen

I'm a postdoctoral researcher with a background in biochemistry. My research is focused on understanding the key mechanisms and factors of oxidative protein folding of the human endoplasmic reticulum. However, oxidative protein folding is not just a crucial phenomenon of the cell: it is also important for biotechnological and industrial applications; for example, many medical protein drugs, including antibodies, and industrial enzymes need to fold oxidatively during production to acquire their biological function. My research work is shifting to the interface of academia, industry and healthcare; in the latest project I seek solutions to commercialize a natural zero calorie protein sweeter, Brazzein.
