Biocenter Oulu is a multidisciplinary umbrella organisation within the Molecular and environmental basis of life-long health research focus area of the University of Oulu. Currently there are 13 research projects and one junior investigator projects selected for fixed terms by international evaluation, and 6 coordinators’ projects.
The total personnel of Biocenter Oulu is about 270, including 23 project leaders, 86 senior and post-doctoral researchers, 110 Ph.D. and M.D. -Ph.D. students in the Health and Biosciences Doctoral Programme, and over 50 laboratory technicians and other staff. Biocenter Oulu operates research infrastructure core facilities and belongs to the national Biocenter Finland network.
The joint activities of Biocenter Oulu include seminars, symposia and meetings of group leaders.
