About the project
ADP-ribosylation is a covalent post-translational protein modification involved in many cellular signalling events. We study the structures and mechanisms of the enzymes involved and aim to develop potent and selective inhibitors to be used as drug leads and as chemical tools to study the enzymes. We develop assays suitable for high-throughput screening of inhibitors and use structural information for more rational design. Protein X-ray crystallography is our main tool used to understand structure-activity relationships of compounds. We also use X-ray crystallography, small angle X-ray scattering and other biophysical techniques to study the structure and function of these multidomain proteins.
