Synthetic biology is an evolving area of multidisciplinary research that combines biosciences, medical sciences, physical and chemical sciences, engineering and disciplines of social and ethical sciences. Integration of different fields of research is expected to result in e.g. usage of novel biological components and devices to build new kinds of technologies that are less damaging to the environment and enable more efficient industrial processes, as well as in development of new environmental, nutritional, health, and energy production related applications.
Everyone is welcome to learn what synthetic biology is and where this emerging field is heading!
