Travel grants for MA and PhD students attending the Arctic Congress Bodø 2024

The University of the Arctic is inviting Master and PhD students from UArctic member institutions, whose abstracts have been accepted to be presented during the Arctic Congress Bodø 2024, to apply for funding support to the Arctic Congress Bodø 2024 held in Norway on May 29 – June 2.

The University of the Arctic is inviting Master and PhD students from UArctic member institutions, whose abstracts have been accepted to be presented during the Arctic Congress Bodø 2024, to apply for funding support to the Arctic Congress Bodø 2024 held in Norway on May 29 – June 2.

Students attending PhD course can also apply that they will present their work during the course and that the course is organized by one of the UArctic member organizations or by one of the thematic networks. Indigenous students from northern or Arctic member organizations will be prioritized in the allocation of the grants.

Master and PhD students who have accepted abstracts or who are attending PhD courses affiliated with UArctic are eligible to apply for funding to cover their travel (up to max fixed sum, see table below), accommodation and registration costs for their active participation at the Arctic Congress Bodø 2024.

To apply: please fill out the application form below before the 7th of April, 2024. The following attachments should be enclosed in the application:

  • Motivation letter (not longer than one page)
  • Letter of recommendation from the MA or PhD thesis supervisor
  • Copy of the abstract acceptance from the Arctic Congress organizer or copy of acceptance letter to PhD course including the course program.
  • Detailed estimated travel and accommodation costs in NOK

During the selection, UArctic will give the priority to Indigenous students from Northern or Arctic member organizations. UArctic aims at an overall balance with the selection on areas of northern research, geographical distribution, (as well as gender balance).
