RoboMesh

Beyond 5G Distributed Ledger Technology driven Meshfor Industrial Robot Collaboration

The goal of RoboMesh project is to develop a framewor for collaboration and long-term autonomy in distributed robotic systems based on Beyond-5G (B5G) wireless mesh connectivity with built-in distributed ledger technology (DLT). The project is run by 3 partners: BISG and CWC-NS from the the University of Oulu, and TIERS from the University of Turku.

Project description

The goal of RoboMesh project is to develop aframework for collaboration and long-term autonomy in distributed robotic systems based on Beyond-5G (B5G) wireless mesh connectivity with built-in distributed ledger technology (DLT). RoboMeshbrings together the latest key developments in collaborative multi-robot systems, wireless connectivity, and DLT technology applied to distributed robotic systems.

B5G wireless mesh networks and DLT will serve as a backbone for efficient and seamless computational offloading and collaborative sensing in robotic systems, as well as a transparent and secure medium for integration of IIoT sensors and other connected infrastructure. Furthermore, the framework can be used in collaborative,long-term autonomy to support both ground and aerial robotsin heterogenous systems.

In Oulu the project is jointly executed by BISG and CWC-NS groups of ITEE faculty. Further information is available from the main project web. page administered by TIERS at: https://tiers.utu.fi/project/robomesh
