Dr Alberto Amore is Assistant Professor in Geography of the Anthropocene at the University of Oulu, Finland. He holds a PhD in Management from the University of Canterbury (New Zealand) and a MA in Tourism , Territory and Local Development from the University of Milan-Bicocca (Italy). His research interests include urban planning, tourism planning and policy, urban tourism and urban regeneration, post-disaster governance, destination resilience and vulnerability and recovery response of destinations from natural hazards. He has published more than sixty research outputs in journal articles and edited books, and he is author of two monographs on tourism and urban regeneration (Routledge, 2019) and tourism and resilience (Channel View, 2017). He currently acts as Social Media Editor for Current Issues in Tourism and Associate Editor for Tourism Management Perspectives. He is Committee member of the Geographies of Leisure and Tourism Research (GLTRG) for the Royal Geographical Society, and he is Fellow for the Regional Studies Association (RSA).
