What happens in the Arctic does not stay in the Arctic. Expose yourself to the Arctic atmosphere and return home enlightened for life!
Arctic Exposure is a new summer programme organised by two Finnish universities in cooperation: the University of Lapland and the University of Oulu. The aim of the programme is to familiarise the participants with Arctic environment and cultures, the changes of the environment, humans and societal dialogue.
Arctic Exposure Summer Programme offers two curricula to choose from: Arctic Cultures in Change Curriculum offered by the University of Oulu and Diving into Arctic Dialogues Curriculum offered by the University of Lapland. The both curricula consist of two parts: a 6-day study period and a 6-day study tour, which is an excursion to the town of Inari in Northern Lapland. The curricula are organised separately during the study period in different locations and then the groups join the study tour together. During the two and a half weeks participants engage in lectures, workshops, discussions, group work, visits to interesting locations and of course informal interaction in extracurricular activities.
The multidisciplinary programme tunes participants in to a future frequency and engages them to be part of the change and to discover ways to preserve the unique Arctic areas and their culture. Make change to stop the change! Keep the Arctic cool! Apply now!
