• History of medicine, particularly the history of 19th- and early 20th-century brain research
• women's educational history, in specific the first phase of women's medical training
• 19th- and 20th-century cultural history


Research projects:

Exclusive Treatment: Women in Academic Medicine in 20th-Century Finland, which is part of a research project Forcing the Way: Women in Professional Networks of Power and Knowledge in 20th-Century Finland. The project is led by Professor Jouko Vahtola and financed by the Academy of Finland (Power in Finland -programme).
