In my PhD study I analysed the gendered forestry professionalism in Finland. Since I have moved from forest to urban environment, and I am currently working in a project called UBI Anthropos.

UBI Anthropos is participating in UBI research program to create a user-friendly ubiquitous city. The project studies the ways different people adopt and use new ubiquitous information technology, such as the UBI displays and versatile sensor networks installed into the city centre of Oulu. The project studies the attitudes the citizens have towards the new technology, and the values and expectations they associate with it. We also look into how the users’ age, gender, education, employment and place of residence affect their opportunities and needs to use and utilize ubiquitous technology. In addition, our aim is to analyse the ideas and ideologies behind UBIOulu -project by, for example, interpreting the institutionalized rhetoric, like the officially verified aims of the project.
