I received an M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering from the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department of Tarbiat Modares University in 2021. My thesis was about using activated carbon for the photocatalytic degradation of dyes with zinc oxide. I am a doctoral researcher in the Environmental and Chemical Engineering unit at the University of Oulu. My research mainly focuses on the photocatalytic degradation of pharmaceuticals, especially antibiotics, because of their mass production and widespread utilization in everyday life. The presence of pharmaceuticals in aquatic bodies, even at low concentrations, could harm the environment and human health.

I also work on a project, "BioDigi," to prepare hydrochar and biochar from biomass such as garden waste, wood waste, tomato leaves, etc., which can be used for soil amendment and water treatment. One of the primary objectives of BioDigi is to assess the applicability of waste-based biochars in agriculture, as well as their impact on plant health and soil CO2 emissions.
