The European Biotech Week celebrates biotechnology, an innovative and vibrant sector launched by the discovery of the DNA molecule back in 1953. The first European Biotech Week will mark the 60th anniversary of this pivotal moment in history. There is also some programme in Finland:

Oct 1 -Seminar on Drug Discovery, Turku (focus for media)

Oct 2 -Seminar on Genomics, Helsinki (public)

Oct 3 -Life after PhD – a career seminar for Graduates, Tampere (graduate students)

Oct 3 - Main event in Helsinki (public)

All Week -Activities for school children and teachers in the Gadolin science class, whole week, Helsinki (focus for school children and teachers)
