Seminar description

Bayesian approach to scientific reasoning is becoming increasingly popular among biological and environmental scientists worldwide. Apart from providing a powerful tool for the analysis of case specific experimental and monitoring data, Bayesian approach is a flexible framework for e.g. integrative modelling in cross-disciplinary analyses of human-ecosystem interactions.

This one-day seminar and workshop introduces the basic principles of the approach and showcases some of the recent applications. The afternoon session includes a workshop where all the participants have a change to discuss the potential new applications of the theory in small groups. The final discussion synthesizes the ideas brought up during the day. The new ideas can then be refined over a few glasses of refreshments in the evening.
