1. Structures, vocabulary
Familiarity with one of the following recommended:
- Leech, G. & Svartvik, J.: A Communicative Grammar of English. Harlow: Longman.
- Thomson, A.J. & Martinet, A.V.: A Practical English Grammar. 3rd or 4th edition. Oxford: Oxford University Press.

2. Text comprehension

3. Essay (both language and content will be assessed, emphasis on the latter)  

 The task requires familiarity with one of the following works:  

- Hartley, L.P: The Go-Between. Penguin, 1999.
- Paxman, Jeremy: The English: A Portrait of a People. Penguin, 2007.
- Cook, Guy: Applied Linguistics. Oxford University Press, 2003.
- Loewen, Shawn and Reinders, Hayo: Key Concepts in Second Language Acquisition. Palgrave Macmillan, 2011.
