Campus as a Stage After Work: An Evening of Theatre in November

Come and spend atmospheric evenings on campus! The aim of the Campus as a Stage After Work events is to bring the campuses to life even after working and studying days. The program includes music, theater and good company. After Work events are generally held on the last Wednesday of every month. We welcome students and staff as well as all other residents and visitors from the Oulu area looking for cultural experiences. Depending on the organizer, the events are open for all or have a ticket fee.

Student Theatre of Oulu: Hiljaiset Pellot

Hiljaiset Pellot is a moving monologue that takes the audience through tender memories of a love affair between two women in the 1950s. This intimate and atmospheric work tells the story of a passionate yet forbidden love, as well as the fragile cycle of life.

The monologue was written by Suvi Lindholm and directed by Anne Nuojua.

The event will be held on Wednesday the the 25th of November at 5pm in the Agora hall on the Linnanmaa campus (nearest door 2T). The event is open to everyone and free of charge.

Psst! If you want to continue the evening later, after the plays, come to Saalastinsali to watch the joint concert of TeeKu, Teekkaritorvet and the University Chamber Orchestra at 18.00.

In 2026, the University of Oulu will organize a year-long Campus as a Stage event series, the purpose of which is to showcase the broad cultural expertise of our university community and bring culture to the everyday life of our campuses and to a wider audience. The event includes culture lunches, culture lectures, After Work events, various exhibitions and community art works, and art tours of the university's art collections.
