Alumni Community is there for you
All University of Oulu graduates with a Bachelor's, Master's, Licenciate or a Doctoral Degree are our alumni. Whether you graduated today or decades ago, you are an important part of the university community. The University of Oulu is developing alumni activities that create a warm atmosphere for the entire university. Welcome aboard!
The University of Oulu organizes various seminars, conferences, lecture series, thesis defense ceremonies and other open events throughout the year, to which alumni are also warmly welcomed. Major events held annually include “Yliopistopäivä” (celebration for the whole university community), the Opening Ceremony of the Academic Year and the University Gala. Alumni also independently organize annual course meetings and class reunions, as well as other regular encounters with old classmates and fellow students. Alumni Relations is there to provide assistance when arranging a class reunion.
Stay connected with others
The UniOulu Alumni Community> is an online free-of-charge service for all alumni to keep in touch with the University and eachother. As a member, you can subscribe to e-newsletter, event invititations, continuing education and other communications.
Have an impact and deepen your skills
Continuous learning and self-development are an important part of today’s working life. The world and the way we do work are changing rapidly, so it's good to keep your own skills up to date. The multidisciplinary University of Oulu offers many courses that are useful for alumni, continuing training and further education opportunities. Check out the offer and go on a study trip with us. At the moment the JOY (continuing education university) service web page is available only in Finnish.
Do you want to make good use of your experience and support a student close to graduation in work-related and career-related reflections? As a mentor for a university student, you can develop your interaction and guidance skills, network interdisciplinary with like-minded people and share your experience of working life.
By taking the national career monitoring survey, you can give your home university feedback on the degree you have completed and its relevance in the labor market. Feedback will be used to improve the quality of education and provide important information for research use. Reflecting on your own career and university education after graduation will also help you see your own strengths in working life. The target group includes yearly those who have completed a master's degree five years ago and a doctorate three years ago.
