Faculty of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine

The mission of the Faculty of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine is to perform internationally significant research and to deliver high-level undergraduate and post-graduate education in the fields of biochemistry and molecular medicine, to provide infrastructure and other expertise to local, national and international scientific communities and to entrepreneurs in Finland and abroad.

Research

The research focus areas of the Faculty are cell-extracellular matrix, protein science, cellular regulatory and metabolic networks and related diseases. In addition, FBMM fosters openings for new research topics. The Faculty provides a dynamic research surrounding and cutting-edge research infrastructure services to academics and other users in Finland and abroad. The Faculty has about 190 employees (including PhD students) of which about half are from outside of Finland.
