Faculties and university management
The university consists of eight faculties and many specialized research units. The highest decision-making body in the university is the Board. The Board decides on the central goals, strategy and direction of the university's operations and economy.

The future campus of the University of Oulu
In its meeting on February 23, 2023, the university's board of directors authorized Rector Jouko Niinimäki to start a discussion with the city of Oulu about possible location options for the new campus.
