Facilities and equipment
Group study facilities, workstations and quiet reading rooms – we have it all! Library-specific facilities and equipment are listed below.
Canon multifunction devices are available at all library locations. The prints can be sent to the multifunction devices from the workstations (only university students and staff), from your own device which is on the university's network (vpn connection or Eduroam) or by sending the file to the e-mail address mprints(at)oulu.fi. You have to log into printing device with your University of Oulu or Oamk user account and password (or with a rfid identifier) to release your prints, scan or copy.
Other customers (other than staff and students) can use the coin-operated machine on the second floor of Pegasus Library (20 cents / page).
Univeristy of Oulu and Oamk students and staff:
You can scan articles to your e-mail with the Canon multifunction machines in every library unit. Scanning is free of charge.
Other customers can scan to a USB stick or to their own e-mail with the coin-operated multifunction device (20 c / scan) located in the Pegasus Library (2nd floor).
Microfilm readers are located in the Pegasus Library (room PK226). Microfilm readers are connected to personal computers for downloading.
You can reserve a microfilm reader with the booking calendars next to the devices for a maximum of 2 hours at a time. You may save your scanned files to a memory stick or print to a Pegasus coin-operated MFP (20c / page). The printer name is Canon iR-ADV C5030 / 5035 UFR ll.
The group study rooms are primarily intended for use by groups of two or more students. Univeristy of Oulu students can reserve them by using O365 calendars (guide for booking). The booking is void if the charger has not arrived in 15 minutes. You can reserve a room through the O365 calendar for a maximum of three hours per day. Only University of Oulu students can reserve the group study rooms in Pegasus Library, but Oamk students can use the rooms when they are not reserved.
The quiet reading rooms are designed for quiet study. Loud conversation, group work and use of mobile phones is not allowed. The new quiet reading room, Lukupesä, is located in the History collection room on the 2nd floor of the library. Note! Lukupesä is closed due to renovation until further notice.
There are also 15 single study rooms in the Linguistics and History collection rooms on the 2nd floor of the Pegasus Library. Two of the rooms are lockable and the key can be borrowed from the library's customer service desk.
There is a large self study area on the top floor of the library with 66 VDI workstation terminals.

For long-term storage of material there are book lockers and lockable book trolleys (check availability). These can be rented free of charge for three months at a time.
All library material to be kept in the book lockers and trolleys must first be borrowed. For further information about book lockers and lockable book trolleys please contact the customer service desk on the ground floor of Pegasus Library.
Most of the computers in the library require login with a staff or student account. Printing to the secure print.
The library has a CD and LP disc player with headphones for music listening. They are located in the Musacorner on top floor.
The group study room corridor (location, PK251-PK269) in Pegasus Library is part of the 24/7 campus for University of Oulu students. The space is available for the University of Oulu students round the clock. Entrance with a personal campus card from the interior street Väylä when the library is closed. Campus cards are available from the University of Oulu online shop at: https://shop.oulu.fi. Oamk students can use the space during library hours.
The group study rooms PK253-255, PK261-PK268 and computer classrooms PK251 and PK269 are available. Only University of Oulu students can reserve the group study rooms in Pegasus Library, but Oamk students can use the rooms (during library hours) when they are not reserved.

The facilities are available for use by Oamk and OSAO Kontinkangas unit students every day 7:30-21:00, also on weekends. When the library is closed you have access with a separate access card, which you can get from the porters.
There are reading places and workstations in the library. The Oulainen Learning Centre is open Monday to Friday, 8:00-19:00, closed on weekends. When the staff are not present, you have access with a separate key. Entrance to the learning centre is until 15:30.
