Faculties and units
The University of Oulu has eight faculties. The research units in our faculties constitute a strong multidisciplinary scientific community. The centres for multidisciplinary research support research combining different disciplines. Regional separate units strengthen the university's research activities and its effectiveness.
The centres for multidisciplinary research (Biocenter, Eudaimonia, Infotech and Kvantum) contribute to cross-faculty research cooperation at the University of Oulu. The centres’ activities supporting interdisciplinary will come to an end by the end of 2026. From 1 January 2027,the Integra – Institute for Integrative Studies will take over the role of coordinating and supporting interdisciplinary activities.
